Identity

A mandala built from the wordmark outward, drawn in one line weight and coloured by rotation.

Two Shanti Yoga business cards on a lilac ground. The front is filled edge to edge with a fine-line mandala in pink, purple and orange with the lowercase wordmark at its centre; the back is white, with a rule of mandala petals top and bottom and contact details in pink and purple.

Shanti Yoga is about gathering yourself and finding some peace, and the identity had to be able to say that at the size of a business card, which is where most small identities quietly fail.

The mark is a mandala drawn outward from the wordmark rather than a mandala with a name placed on it. Every petal, dot and ring is the same hairline weight, so the whole thing holds together as one drawing; what varies is only the colour, which rotates through the wheel around the circle. That does two useful things at once. It gives a single-colour mark the appearance of many, and it means the mark still works when there is nothing but line, which is what happens at the head of a letterhead, or foiled, or embroidered.

On the stationery the same drawing does a second job at a completely different scale, printed almost to white across the sheet. It is the same file, not a decorative variant, which is what keeps the set feeling like one identity rather than a logo plus some patterns.
